Elon Musk’s X is stirring up the cryptocurrency community again by removing cryptocurrency emojis that had been used for over four years. The crypto community on X is puzzled by the reasons behind the deletion of several crypto emojis, including Bitcoin (BTC $67,215).
Multiple reports indicate that X removed the Bitcoin hashtag emoji along with a few other crypto emojis on July 25.

The cryptocurrency community has quickly voiced its disappointment over the removal of crypto emojis.
“Freedom and expression are key reasons many of us adopted Bitcoin. The Bitcoin emoji, though small, symbolizes a powerful idea, similar to the Peace sign that helped end wars,” said Eleonor Genova, head of communications at Nexo.
Genova highlighted the “urgent need for an independent, universal digital symbol,” urging Unicode to take action. She noted the inconsistency of having many money-related emojis while lacking one for a community that has faced criticism yet transformed the global economy in just 15 years.
“Bitcoin is not just an asset; it’s a revolution that deserves recognition,” Genova stated.
Before removing cryptocurrency emojis from X, Musk introduced a MAGA (TRUMP) emoji on July 18, which has now been eliminated.
The emoji featured the former president with a raised fist, alluding to an assassination attempt he survived in Pennsylvania in mid-July.
Following the incident, Musk shared a photo and declared his “full” endorsement of Trump for president.
